Mad Men: Take Two - Twitter Fanzine

Sep 12, 2010 I am so hooked on Tweeting Mad Men. The Twitter voices behind the Mad Men character names are serious fans, and give their nom de plumes realism and depth worthy of the show. It has been a week since I wrote about my initiation into the Mad Men Twitter fanzine, and what a week it's been.

Writing, Twitter and Mad Men

Sep 06, 2010 After avoiding the show for the first three seasons, Mad Men finally sucked me in. The damnedest thing is, Twitter and Mad Men have joined forces. For the last two days, I've been tweeting with Mad Men characters.

When Armchair Actvism Isn't Enough

Oct 13, 2008

Armchair Activist

Sep 15, 2008 Barack Obama has me paying attention. When I started paying attention, do you know what I discovered? I still care. I have ignored politics for eight years. It’s the only way I could cope. After George W. Bush stole the election from Al Gore, and squeaked through again in 2004, I gave up on politicians. Between that and the subsequent abysmal leadership Bush gave this country, I withdrew into my work. I figured there’s nothing I can do about what’s going on in Washington. Barack Obama has changed that. For the first time in a very long time, I feel like I can make a difference again.

When Life Takes a Sharp Left

Jun 07, 2008 On May 30th, my life changed. I quit my job. I’d actually given notice in February, allowing time for my employer to find a replacement that I would train. Every day, I marked the calendar. May 30th seemed centuries away. The days slowly passed, and May 30th finally arrived. Writing is now my full time job.

Who’s Your Daddy? – The Sex Appeal Of Older Men

Apr 11, 2007 While mulling over what to talk about in my last blog, my husband had a suggestion I found irresistible! More joking than serious, he said, “Why don’t you talk about the sex appeal of older men, and call it ‘Who’s Your Daddy’?”

Woo-Woo Writing – Exploring The Paranormal In Erotic Romance

Apr 11, 2007 Woo-woo is not new to me. I have been a long time student of metaphysics and spirituality. My personal library of woo-woo books is extensive. The idea of weaving my background of paranormal study into an erotic romance seemed far fetched, until I happened upon a rerun of The Ghost and Mrs. Muir. I’m not talking about the television series. It is the 1947 movie with Rex Harrison as Captain Gregg and Gene Tierney as Mrs. Muir that rang my chimes. It is a remarkable love story.

Female Sexuality

Apr 11, 2007 Got your attention, didn’t I? As you might expect, I have opinions about this topic, which I will share a few of with you. Are you ready to take a ride with me? Hang on to your seats!

Saying Those Words Out Loud!

Apr 11, 2007 In October, I had the pleasure of participating in Rachel Kramer Bussel’s In The Flesh Erotic Reading Series. She invited me to read from Sins and Secrets, which had just been released. I enthusiastically accepted! How amazing to be invited to read at this popular, and prestigious, monthly reading series! How totally cool was that!

Where do you find the time?

Apr 11, 2007 I am often asked, “How do you it? Where do you find the time to work a full time job and also write books?” The answer is simple. I make the time. However simple the answer might be, actually doing it can be quite difficult.

Freefall

Apr 11, 2007

In January, 2005, six months before Kensington bought Passion, I took a writing course. A friend introduced me to a writing technique called Freefall.

Rather than my trying to explain what she told me, I will quote directly from the Freefall website:

P.F. Kozak - Guest Author Gets Her Feet Wet

Apr 11, 2007 For those of you who don’t know me, hello! I’m P.F. Kozak, and I’m an Aphrodisia Author. I write for Kensington’s Aphrodisia line of erotic romance. I had two books published in 2006, Passion, a contemporary story set in England, and Sins and Secrets, a Victorian historical. With Aphrodisia, the heat is turned up quite a bit more than in traditional romances. Traditional romance novels take you to the bedroom door. Aphrodisia novels take you inside.

Mo Beasley, UrbanErotika and Black Panties

Jan 06, 2007

Hello Everyone and Happy New Year !!!!

In October, I had the pleasure of participating in Rachel Kramer Bussel’s “In The Flesh” Erotic Reading series. That’s where I met Mo Beasley.

At the “In The Flesh” reading, Mo read a poem he wrote called “Black Panties.” Since that night in October, bits of that poem have come back to me, so much so I finally asked Mo for a copy. With his permission, I am sharing it with you.

In Memoriam - Steve Irwin

Sep 06, 2006

It must have been about ten years ago when I first saw Steve Irwin. While channel surfing, I happened upon a show on the Discovery Channel. A sandy haired Australian in short pants was sitting on a crocodile. I had to stop and watch, wondering who is that crazy son of a bitch?

That crazy bloke, as I came to call him, was Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter.

Choosing Life

Jul 31, 2006

It has been a bit of time since I blogged on my website. The last few months have been difficult ones. After a long illness, my mother passed away in June. Even though we all knew she had little time left, her death still came as a shock.

My brothers helped me write the eulogy, and I delivered it. (I will post it at the end of this blog, for anyone who might want to read it.) I almost made it through, maintaining my composure and humor right to the end. But, final goodbyes are never easy. With the last sentence, a poignant and personal message to our mother from my brothers and myself, I lost it. To cry at your mother’s funeral is natural and expected. But being an author and comfortable with public speaking, I thought I could manage it. I humbly acknowledge grief trumped self-control.

PASSION - Male Point Of View

Apr 10, 2006

As I got to know my male character in “Passion”, and shift into his point of view, I came to understand both his sexuality, and his shadow self. I understood what motivated him, even if in his own mind, he didn’t. Ivan (pronounced i-VAHN) is passionate and unbelievably sexy, an alpha male to be sure. But he is also human.

The Heart Of The Matter

Apr 02, 2006

Writing for me is not a choice, it is a compulsion. I need to write. It keeps me sane. When I am between books, I am my husband’s worst nightmare. I am cranky, edgy and oh my, constantly horny. When I am involved in a project, my characters absorb my emotions like a sponge. And they f**k like bunnies!

Female Reaction / Male Reaction

Mar 03, 2006

Since pfkozak.com launched on Sunday February 26th, reactions to the site have been bountiful. Women love it !! My female friends have raved (and yes indeed, panted) over both the photographs and the content. Za-Hazzanani called me from a black cab on a London street, exclaiming “Brilliant, simply brilliant!”
